Matt Sloustcher is Executive Vice President, Corporate Affairs & Chief Communications Officer at MP Materials (NYSE: MP). He joined MP Materials in 2021 and oversees the company’s local, state, and federal government relations as well as its overarching communications strategy. Matt also serves on the Industry Trade Advisory Committee on Critical Minerals & Nonferrous Metals (ITAC 5)—an advisory role appointed by the Secretary of Commerce and the U.S. Trade Representative—where he provides a private sector perspective on public policies concerning America’s supply chains.

Prior to MP Materials, Matt spent more than a decade in the automotive industry. He led public relations at American Honda, managing strategic communications across the company’s diverse U.S. business lines. He also served as Director of Government Affairs & Communications at a start-up electric vehicle and battery manufacturer.

Earlier in his career, Matt consulted to technology and energy clients at Peppercomm Strategic Communications in San Francisco. He holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
