
James Litinsky
James H. Litinsky has led MP Materials (NYSE: MP) since its inception in 2017. As Founder, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer, he transformed Mountain Pass from a dormant site into the cornerstone of America’s resurgent rare earth supply chain. In 2020, James took MP Materials public and initiated a multi-year strategy to rebuild domestic capabilities for rare earth separation and magnet manufacturing, strengthening America’s energy, defense, and technology supply chains.
Prior to establishing MP Materials, James founded JHL Capital Group in 2006, a multibillion-dollar alternative investment firm, where he served as CEO and CIO. Earlier in his career, James worked at Fortress Investment Group, served as Director of Finance at Omnicom Group, and was a merchant banker at Allen & Company. James graduated cum laude from Yale University with a B.A. in Economics and earned both a J.D. and an M.B.A. from Northwestern University’s School of Law and Kellogg School of Management. He was admitted to the Illinois Bar.
